Nano Day... what? 22?
music: The quiet hum of the lab computer
mood: half and half
Ahh, the much awaited (Well by me) rewrite of the blast to the past, sadly minus Ronon, who was complicating things for me too much. Alas Ronon, we shall hopefully find you an interesting plot point, or just relegate you to the back, because quite frankly, I want to finish this story, and you've got an entire story planned for you and McKay, so whatever.
This version hits on several of the same plot points, and I've even reincorporated some of my favorite bits from the original write, but it takes a very very different direction on Sheppard and McKay's arrival into the past, as their reception to the new era is nothing close to the reception they received the first time around. The bit players from the last write have been rewritten, and I think I like the tension and mistrust... it seems more fitting. Besides, the boys will have time to win them over and start playing Robin Hood.
Although how I don't even know yet... can't remember if Carus's name is actually Carus. I have whatever I decided to call him written back on Hal. Ahh, I have my liketheriver fic as well as half of Tipper's mammoth story printed out for my airport adventures tomorrow. Will probably print this new part out and bring a notebook as well, just in case the inspiration bug bites me at the airport. Ahh lovely
Word Count (for today and yesterday): 3350 (That's an average of 1675 for both days. Yay!)
Total Word Count: Oh, I don't even know anymore.

The last of the original write-a-thon, before I took off on a different tangent today (that has produced eight pages. Yeah baby! Maybe I'm back on track?
) Anyhoo, this whole part will have to be rewritten, but I'll still include it for now.
Ronon is now officially written out of the grand adventures to the past, but that's all right. I'm sure he'll have a lot more fun in the present kicking peasant ass--er-- I mean, teaching everyone how to fight. I'm currently gmailing everything back and forth to myself so I have access to the story at whatever computer I'm at
(will have to change that for Wednesday... or print out the in-progress part and *shudder* physically write things)
But speaking up for this part, I do like Teyla's reaction, even if for some reason it wasn't jiving well either. There was just too much panic on both sides for it to work for me, but in reality I know I'd be all "OMGWTF!" if, well, anything from SGA happened. Bad example.
But really liking my current tangent, it provides a lot more whumping opportunities, and everyone's not so sugar coated. That, and my snark meter was up to the max tonight. Will post probably tomorrow or before airplane adventures begin on Wednesday. Woo! Fun!

Struggling to Catch Up
music: Chatting in the Labs
mood: So very very tired
An assortment of several days entries. Will most likely write Ronon out, the more I think of it. Poor guy, I really can't think of much of a role for him in the present either. I guess I just won't think about it and see what comes of it. For once I've got an actual role for Teyla, which is strange...
Word Count from past few days: 1516 (so so sad)
Total Word Count: 14,745
...looks like the fire is dying. I'd really like to finish this story, or at least leap back into the action, but I just have no energy this week between everything. Hopefully watching some of the first season of Atlantis will prop it back up. If I have to, I'll just dedicate one half of December to finishing this insane quest. I will finish, I swear!
Oh yes, and Steve is my hero.

Nano Day 9 - Plot Point Hit!
music: Taproot - Calling
mood: accomplished
Updating this and adding yesterday's word count, because I'm so happy I finally finished it. Four chapters in, 13,000 words later, I finally threw in the major snafu to our boys. And it's also been written where if I have to write Ronon into the present later, it won't be too hard to fix (at least) the flash scene.
Tomorrow Mom and everyone flies in from FL, and Randi will be staying at the apartment for most of the weekend. I have a feeling she'll be a huge distraction. So now I must devote my time between now and 11 AM tomorrow to preparing for my oral presentation, and from 12:30 to phone call time will be spent doing a rush clean job on my room, so my parents don't think they're giving me money so I can live like a slob.
Today was a successful day writing-wise, because I broke both the 10k mark, and I'm only 2k behind what I'm supposed to be now. Hurrah for power writings. Writing to making sure something spefically happens is simultaneously frustrating and rewarding.
Tomorrow I start on Chapter Five, sort of entering into no man's land, as I don't have the initial "OMG! We're 10,000 years in the past!" planned out. I do know we shall be meeting up with some of the people on the run, and realizing how far back we've gone. Will probably need to visit the present and gets Teyla's side of the "WTF?" One major hurdle has been crossed though, and I feel satisifed.

Nano Day 8
Day 8 would have gone better if certain forces of life had not conspired against me. As it stands, I think I did all right. I've opened the file so I can start writing again, but there are too many people up here right now, and I've got a little bit of a headache. Normally I don't care, but right now I wish they'd all go away so I can have a quiet lab so I can concentrate and wallow in quiet and relative peace.

Nano Day 7
music: The tiny little fan in the living room... Roxy's sniffing
mood: A little buzzed, sort of tired, but content
I'm 300 short of my daily goal, which means I have to write an extra 300 tomorrrow at the labs. Hopefully I won't get distracted trying to changed SDB from phpbb to the new (hopefully simpler) forum that I found. Will probably require me temporarily deleting the gallery, but that's okay. Nothing of utmost importance there anyway, and will have to reintegrate the user files anyway (but that has nothing to do with Nano, so I digress).
I was thinking about going ahead and doing another 300, but it's already 12:30 and I need to be up by 9 to do my French HW. Ahh, the joys of procrastination. Chapter 3 has finished, but not where I expected. I must ask, why, dear god WHY is the thing that really starts the plot rolling not starting until chapter four? 8000+ words in? I was hoping to have the whole "Hey Dorothy, we're not in Kansas anymore" be the cliffie (I guess it still could be, I could zap them back to the past [oops, spoiler plot point. My bad] and have them not realize it for a while.) Anyhoo, maybe one of my betas will figure out a way for me to tighten it up. Probably will wind up having to get rid of all that character introspection that popped out of NOWHERE (but really helped the word count).
Daily Word Total: 2103
Total Count: 8325
Tomorrow's Count should be... 11,000 (translating into a hopeful 2700 words tomorrow... basically a full chapter. Vwee!)

Nano Day 4-6
music: "Ride Forever" Paul Gross
mood: hurried
Day 5 definitely went by without anything being written, as that was the most intensive day for filming. It was also International Drink Stupid Ex-Boyfriends Off Your Mind night. Day 4 could've in fact been what I posted for Day 3. WHoops. Oh well. Day 6 doesn't have as much written for that, but I blame that on Little Hal's habit of going "Oh wait, I'm not plugged in... even though I am! XD"
Stupid Hal.
So yeah, low word count. I think if I double my word count the next few days I'll catch up (and subsequently leave little Miss DD in the dust. Nyehhhh! (She'll eventually find this journal).
Oh yes, and I opened up Gateworld with the specific goal of figuring out if the thing in "Trinity" was Project Arcturus or spelled some other way. So that's probably another glaring error, if any of you SGAHC people find this place.
And now, I am officially caught up on blogging. (Hopefully) Tonight's writings will be added tomorrow.

Nano Day 3
Day 3 happened on... Thursday? Friday? I can't remember. It was Thursday or Friday... I want to say Friday, since Thursday I think I got mucho distracted messing around with the archives for SDB and the Rawhide-Fic list. This day finished off Chapter 2, falling short of daily word goals again.
Chapter 2 is pretty talky, as it gets all of the reactions for the ending of chapter one, as well as sets up/foreshadows a lot of things for the rest of the story. Poor McKay is coming off rather snarky in the beginning of this, and I really don't mean that... he's going to be a chief character, (next to Sheppard), but Teyla seems to be taking front and center right now. Probably just all the political niceties. Will probably have to go back and tweak a lot of that so John and Rodney don't seem to be at each other's throats so much. (Story is suppose to take place after "Aurora", not directly after "Trinity"... hrm...)
