Surprise! ToI Update!
music: Gorillaz - Feel Good, Inc.
mood: Not tired at all
I lied. Here's an excerpt (for Steve, since he occassionally pokes his head in
and Kam if she gets curious again).
My muse is surprising me, is all I'm saying (in case I might accidentally scare her away). Just added a whole new chapter for Twilight of the Idols
ToI Word Count: 2902
January Word Count: 17,208
I must now force myself to sleep, so I can wake up tomorrow. My last full day in Florida.
<--- Sad
Not tired though. Much love for ToI, hopefully I'll finish this story one day. Hopefully I'll finish this story before this year's Nanowrimo.
Managed to still fit that Wizard of Oz reference in. Go me. McKay's probably freaking out a little too much. Oops. It amuses me though. I'm very tempted to name this chapter after McKay's gag, because that came out of left field, and is still making me snicker. Poor Rodney, I have to torture him like this, because eventually I'm giving the poor man real angst and whumping in the story (like he somehow wound up having angst and ankle injury out of nowhere in "Dead or Alive"). I've got to keep him relatively whole until then... they'll be stuck in the past for at least two months, so maybe... >=D
No, bad Grey. Don't whump the McKay in addition to the whump he's already assigned. It's too greedy...
And too tempting.
Damn, I guess I'll just see what happens. When I plan these things out too much they stop themselves.
Let's see, that's a total of three different stories I've gotten some good headway done on today. Please don't leave me muse, I love you. <3
I think I might wind up finishing another fic before Linda finishes beta'ing, lol, poor girl... I think my writing is mostly nervous-waiting-to-post energy. Please muse, stay with me after I post this one. I've missed you so.
Okay enough, I seriously need to go to bed.
(...whump...)

January: Off to a Grand Start!
music: Fallout Boy (in my head! :o)
mood: Chipper
January has been a pretty darn good month for writing, or let me make a correction, starting last Friday has been great for writing. I finally finished up one of my first SGA stories, and it is in the beta at the moment. Final page count came to 50 pages even, and the word count I believe was over 19,200. Finished that up Tuesday night (well, the final scenes, I had finished the main plot the night before).
More or less rested last night, since I was still to giddy to concentrate on anything other than dividing it up into chapters for posting on SGAHC and on ff.net. I promised Kam to start putting stuff up at Wraithbait, so maybe I'll post that one there too. Of course I'm going to try the evil method and post it in installments.
Today I managed to focus again, and wrote 700+ words on the Ronon/McKay leash adventure (trying to figure out how to get them attached), I went off on another Trinity back-biting thing, so I'll probably have to edit that because it would make more sense if Sheppard was more annoyed to have him stuck to McKay to sort out their differences. Somehow, tying them together doesn't seem to work for me. (Okay it does, it sounds like it'd be a lot of fun, but I promised Ronon a fic
)
And at the insistence of Dr. Dredd's earlier PM, I've started the next in the Ties that Bind series, and have 3300 words written on that. I swear I've got no attention span, I've been hopping between two fics all day. It's at about 10 pages right now, and I've managed to get the personal shield missing scene written, as well as Sheppard asking Teyla to join. Now I just have to figure out where to go from there.
I'll probably have another Sheppard/McKay scene, where he asks McKay to join, even with his reservations (how the heck am I going to put those across, since the whole fic really is about him forming the team, and the main conflict for him is his confidence in McKay [off-world]). Then of course whatever leads up to the football game, and the scene where he's waiting for McKay to wake up. Of course once I finish this one I have to think of something for 38 Minutes, kind of hard since there's not much room for missing scenes in that one, probably just a short tag or something, something between McKay and Teyla as they wait for word on Ford and Sheppard (not that Ford is extremely wounded, just a little exposed to space). Then I get to write the scene for Suspicion, yay!
<--- too much of a shameless McKay whumper.
I have no ideas for Childhood's End, so I might do something angsty on McKay's part, or just a short Sheppard ribbing his "rampant kleptomania" (and work Zelenka's mug back in).
But yes, together with "Dead or Alive", the counts so far are...
Words Written: 14,306
Pages Written: 39
Wonder how long this spurt of writing energy will last. Hopefully I can keep myself on the regiment of 250+ words a day.
